Retired Rasen farmer killed in car crash

The man killed in a crash at Benniworth on Friday (November 1) has been named locally as 69-year-old Robert Wilson from Market Rasen.

Mr Wilson, a retired farmer, died at the scene of the crash on the B1225 at 1pm.

His black Volkswagen Passat collided with a grey Fiat 
Punto.

The 73-year-old male passenger in the Punto was airlifted to Queen’s Medical Centre Nottingham, where he is being treated for serious injuries.

And the 21-year-old female driver of the Punto was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Mr Wilson, who lived in Willingham Road, leaves behind a wife and four 
children.

He was also a grandfather.

A service of thanks giving for Mr Wilson’s life will take place at St Thomas Church, Market Rasen, on Wednesday, November 13 at 1pm.

There will be collection, in Mr Wilson’s memory, for Diabetes UK.

Lincolnshire Police is appealing for information from anyone who saw the crash.
