All-round service, with top staff and materials, has helped Kate Quinn and her team to be chosen Salon of the Year by our readers.
Kate, from Grasby, opened Quintessential Hair and Beauty Salon in Queen Street, Market Rasen, just over two years ago, after relocating from Leeds.
The qualified beautician has a background in corporate training but on remarrying, moved to the pretty Wolds village, where she started doing nails in 2004 and nouveau lashes in 2008, with her husband giving her the idea of opening the salon.
The salon caters for everything from cut and finishes, perming, colouring, hair extensions and ‘fantastically funky colouring.’ Beauticians are also on hand for waxing, spray tans, nails, HD brows, nouveau lash extensions and Shellac.
“We came, we saw, we conquered,” said an excited and enthusiastic Kate when she heard she had won the award.
“We cross-pollinate our (hairdressing) business with health and beauty,” Kate explained as the secret of her success.
“People who come here having their hair done end up having their nails done or a tan as well. People who come for a tan will have their hair done. A lot of places are either one or the other. We do the whole shebang.”
“We only use the best products. We don’t buy any rubbish or employ them. I have a new team behind me who are all excellent, trained and friendly- the Quintessential beauty therapists of the area,” Kate said.
“Business is doing really well. Since opening in 2012, we have more than doubled our profit. Our client list just keeps on growing. We have people coming from Grimsby and the villages around Lincoln.”
The Salon of the Year award is not the first time Kate’s business has enjoyed success.
“We won the secret shopper last year, where we were ranked on customer service and local knowledge.”
The future looks as bright and colourful as some of the salon’s nail colourings and hair dyes.
“This latest award will have a brilliant impact on the business. Everybody reads the Rasen Mail. Thanks to them, everybody will read about us and how good we are.”
