Preparing the roads for winter

It may, so far, be a mild winter, but the highways gritting team from Lincolnshire County Council are ready for action.

And to help them on their way, the annual gritter blessing ceremonies have taken place across the county.

The Bishop of Lincoln led the short service at Sturton by Stow and at Market Rasen’s Willingham depot, the Rev Andrew Lomax, the Rev Charles Patrick, New Life Pastor Paul Hiley and Envoy Anne Ward joined together to bless the
machines and pray for the team’s safety.

“This is an opportunity to thank the gritting team for their hard work in all weathers and at all hours to make our roads as safe as possible,” said the Rev Lomax.
