The Royal British Legion Annual Poppy Appeal is launched this Saturday, October 27 and runs to Sunday, November 11.
And members of the Tealby and Market Rasen Branch of the organisation are inviting everyone to join with them in remembering the sacrifices made by servicemen and women, both in the past and today.
“Last year, a total of £6,945.70 was paid into the appeal thanks to the generosity of the donors and we look to exceed that figure this year,” said branch secretary Les Tranter.
Volunteers will be collecting in Market Rasen and nearby villages. There will also be collecting tins in local pubs, shops and clubs.
On Sunday, November 11, the branch will hold its Annual remembrance Service in St Thomas’s Church, Market Rasen, at 9.30am.
This will be followed by the town parade from the Market Place, marching off at 10.45am, to the War Memorial, where wreath laying will take place.
