‘WHICH services can we cut?’ That’s the question being asked by West Lindsey District Council following last week’s announcements regarding Government funding.
Residents throughout West Lindsey are being asked to say which district council services they receive they value the most, because cuts will have to be made.
The details of the cash the council receives from central government were announced this week and the result is that West Lindsey’s grant has been reduced by 31 per cent over two years, which equates to £2.5 million.
Officers and councillors have already made savings of £700,000, but the council needs to find a further £1.8 million in the next two years if significant service cuts and major redundancies are to be avoided.
