A NEW mayor has taken over the reins and the chains at Market Rasen Town Council.
And for the first time he may have two deputy mayors to help him in his civic duties.
Coun Steve Bunney was named as mayor of the town last Wednesday and, pending confirmation that the council can have two deputy mayors, Coun John Hadlow and Coun Martin Harvey were appointed.
Making the proposal to have two deputy mayors for the coming year, coun Margaret Lakin–Whitworth said the change will ensure someone from the council is always able to attend events should the Mayor be unavailable.
The council made regeneration of the town and market its priority for the coming year.
