Public in a flap over pigeon problem

THE ongoing pigeon problem in Market Rasen was raised again at the town council meeting last week.

During public participation Archie Farrow said: “The council has written to shops to force them to do up their businesses in times of hardship and yet everything the council is responsible for is an absolute disgrace.

“Other towns in this country do not have this problem.”

Councillors added their voices to Mr Farrow’s concerns and said they had been promised the problem would be resolved by the county council.

Coun Graham Bower said: “We have been promised twice in these meetings that something will be done in a matter of weeks by County Councillor Burt Keimach. That is all we can do.”

Members resolved to again ask Coun Keimach to take action to rectify the pigeon mess problem under the town’s railway bridges.

Coun Keimach said: “We are arranging dates of road closures and diversions, and also the presence of Network Rail engineers.”
