QUAD bikes and snow blowers will be used to keep the town’s footpaths clear this winter.
North Lincolnshire Council decided to use the equipment as part of a £130,000 raft of adverse weather improvements after a major review of the winter service.
Last winter saw Arctic temperatures and the council battle to keep main roads open.
A snow warden scheme is being introduced where the situation can be monitored at a local level and reported back to a central control room.
This will help the council prioritise resources and deploy them to the areas most in need.
