Market Rasen man fails to win seat in council by-election

MARKET Rasen resident Guy Grainger has just missed out on a seat on West Lindsey District Council.

The Liberal Democrat candidate had been hoping to win the Nettleham ward seat in this week’s by-election.

Mr Grainger got 513 votes but was beaten by Conservative candidate Giles McNeill who won with 565 votes. Howard Thompson for the United Kingdom Independence Party was third with 177 votes.
