The transformation of recreational facilities in Caistor’s South Street Park is well on its way to completion.
A fun and fitness trail, adventure towers and picnic tables have all been added during the last month and a small community garden with sustainable planting will complete the project later in the year.
The work was made possible by grant from WREN and funding from Caistor Town Council.
Chairman of Parks, Coun Dr Mike Stopper said, “It’s wonderful that these new facilities have been made available to everyone to enjoy.
“The construction materials used have been chosen with care to compliment the surroundings and the play equipment is already proving very popular with the youngsters.
“The fact that the park has recently been given ‘Fields in Trust’ status means the area will now be protected for the long-term benefit of future generations.”
South Street Park will also be the venue for a fundraising fun day between 10am and 4pm this Saturday, August 10.
The event is to raise money for new skate park equipment and will include a dog show at 1pm.
