There were several high profile casualties in the Brigg Town Council election, chief among them was reigning Town Mayor Edward Arnott.

The new council is set to be characterised by members described on the statement list as political party nominees, most of whom were elected.

Conservatives on the 19-seat new council will be Jane Gibbons, Paul Keane, Jane Kitching, Louise Mikkonen, Brian Parker, Sharon Riggall, Carl Sherwood, Luke Sherwood, Nigel Sherwood, Mike Storey, Robert Waltham and Ian Wilson.

Labour Party nominated candidates elected were Sheila Boughey, Donald Campbell, Tina Campbell and Michael Campion. Independents and those without political description elected were Ann Eardley, Deputy Mayor James Truepenny and former Town Mayor Penny Smith.

High profile and long serving Town Councillors not elected were three times former Mayor John Kitwood, Andrew Markham, Jackie Brock and Jennifer Bell.

Other recent members in Lesley Whitehand and Independent Chris Dyson were also not elected.
