Anyone looking to modernise their village hall, save a shop from closure, set up a new group or improve another community service can get free advice at a special event being held next week.
West Lindsey District Council has teamed up with the Plunkett Foundation, CAN and Community Lincs to offer advice on training, funding and business planning.
The Inspiring Communities event will take place in The Epic Centre at Lincolnshire Showground on Thursday, November 7, from 10am to 4pm - and is free to West Lindsey residents.
“We are delighted to be able to host this event in the district, to help develop projects in our communities,” said Coun Malcolm Parish, chairman of the authority’s Prosperous Communities Committee.
“This event is an opportunity to hear inspirational case studies and take part in practical workshops to help move your project forward.
“There will also be an opportunity to network and meet like-minded individuals and industry experts.”
Workshops will include community enterprise, making village halls sustainable, business planning, community rights, raising finance, recruiting, training and managing volunteers and community shares.
And there will also be the chance to find out how the Community Assets Fund - a £1.2millon dedicated fund supporting enterprising communities in West Lindsey, run by CAN and the Plunkett Foundation - can help your project in West Lindsey.
To book tickets - free to West Lindsey residents, £35 to non West Lindsey residents and £25 for members of the Plunkett Foundation Members or Community Lincs - or for more information visit https://wlcaf.eventbrite.co.uk or call Hannah Barrett on 01993 814373.
