Warm sunshine and good crowds blessed the Brocklesby Country Fair on Sunday.
Thousands attended the event from across Lincolnshire and beyond, with traders reporting healthy takings.
Event manager Clare Herring says the Brocklesby Estate was still adding up its attendance and revenue figures but she was “thrilled” by how the event went.
“We got the crowd and the weather. It was very busy. Most of the traders were really happy.”
Popular attractions included the dog shows, plus the sheep show, which had been moved closer to the main ring, where there were birds of prey displays, motorbikes, beagles and other delights.
Lee Hotten, whose daughter Evie enjoyed the bucking bronco, said the Brocklesby Fair was ‘brilliant.’
“It gets bigger every year. It’s amazing. It’s a lot better than the Lincolnshire Show. There’s more for the kids and the younger families.”
The East Lincolnshire Basset Hounds were one of many popular canine attractions.
“Lots of people love to cuddle a beagle,” said the group’s Mark Guy.
Such shows, he says, spread the word about the hounds, which typically catch rabbits, hares and run along false trails.
