The annual 101 Squadron memorial service saw veterans, friends and family return to Ludford.
Ludford Magna - or Mudford as it was known - was the wartime base of the squadron and saw the highest casualty rate of any squadron.
And they flew Lancasters, so it was a highlight of the day when not one but two of the bombers performed a flypast - with two sweeps over the village playing field.
Following the church service, wreaths were laid at the Squadron memorial and, as is tradition, it was then up to the village hall where WI members served tea and memories were shared.
