The club has received £500 from Lincolnshire Community Foundation’s Covid Recovery Fund. And, club officials have allocated the money to ...two ‘fogging’ machines. The machines are used to spray disinfectant over indoor facilities and will speed up the entire cleaning process. Club spokesman Noel Bush said the machines would be particularly effective as bowlers gears up tor a return to action after the lockdown. Mr Bush said: “Everything indoors has to be regularly cleaned from the toilets to the tables in our clubhouse. “It’s a long, old job and it’s usually the same people who do it but these machines will make a big difference. “If nothing else, we’ll be able to put the aprons away – and concentrate on playing bowls rather than cleaning!” Mr Bush thanked the Community Foundation for the cash boost. He revealed the club had also contributed some money to make up the shortfall to cover the cost of the two machines. He admitted the last few months had been frustrating for club members who have been unable to play – or attend social events. He added: “Everyone has been in the same boat really but hopefully things are starting to ease now. “The green looks in fantastic condition and the leagues are supposed to start in May. “We’ll hopefully be back on the green by the end of this month and I think everyone is looking forward to just playing again.” The fogging machines are already being put to good use and Mr Bush stressed the club should ‘more than meet’ all the rules and regulations regarding a long-awaited return to action.
