If you thought romance was dead meet Ben Stephenson.
Born and bred in Market Rasen, Ben married Cherie Stephenson (Nee Barton) on September 14 2012 at Hemswell Court.
This Saturday marks the couple’s one year anniversary and since paper is the traditional gift for this first landmark, Ben contacted the Rasen Mail, and we were happy to help.
Ben said: “On the anniversary of our marriage I would like to take the opportunity to thank all our friends and family for attending and also thank my beautiful wife for turning up and making me the happiest man in the world.
“We had the most wonderful day and made memories that will live on forever.”
Ben attended De Aston School in Market Rasen before going to Lincoln College. On returning to Market Rasen from a college internship in New York he started working at The Marriott Hotel in Lincoln where he met Cherie.
Ben said: “After a few months of chasing (by me) we finally started dating at the end of January 2003. We got engaged in 2007 and we finally got married on September 14 2012.”
The couple now live in Nottingham, but Ben’s mum and dad Jeff and Gill Stephenson and brother Jonathan Stephenson still live in Market Rasen.
Cherie’s family, mum and dad Nick and Louise and brother and sister Ben and Nicola, all still live in Lincoln where she grew up and attended Lincoln’s Yaraborough School and Lincoln University.
Congratulations and happy anniversary from all at the Rasen Mail.
