The funeral of Kathleen Morgan of Caistor was held at the parish church.
The Rev Canon Ian Robinson and the Rev Canon Judy McCann officiated at the service and arrangements were by J W Varlow & Son.
Kath, the fourth of five sisters, was born and grew up at Pledwick, South of Wakefield, West Yorkshire. After leaving High School, she became a civil servant, working for the Inland Revenue.
In 1955, she married Don and they came to Caistor in 1960, where she took on the role of treasurer for Yarborough Ladies’ Circle and Caistor Flower Club.
She also worked for Fred Varlow.
In 1975, they left Caistor to live near Gainsborough when Don’s job changed and she then worked for an accountant in Gainsborough. But they never really left Caistor and returned in 1983.
Kath was a very practical lady and her many hobbies included pottery, watercolour painting, upholstery, gardening and bridge. Worked for Stuart Dickinson, accountants. After retiring, Kath joined the WRVS and helped at Caistor Primary School.
An active member of Caistor Parish Church, she helped to organise their annual Bridge Day and other fundraising events.
Although not well for the last three years, she continued to attend church regularly.
Kath was always close to her family and was a loving Grandma to John and Catrin.
