Obituary: Clive Gibson

The funeral service for Clive Gibson, aged 81 years of Market Rasen, was held at the parish church.

The Rev Charles Patrick officiated at the service and arrangements were by J Marshall.

Clive was born in Hull.

In his youth, he worked as a waggoner for Bayes Haulage in Hull.

In 19489, he began his two-year National Service, when he was based at Catteick and Fallingbostel in Germany.

He trained as a PT1 and worked on tanks, serving with The Queens Bays and 2nd Dragoon Guards.

Afterwards, he started farming at Frampton with foster parents.

After his marriage to Brenda Lindley he went on to farming at Eastville Farm, followed by ten years with G Mapplethorpe at North Owersby and then, until retirement, at Cherry Valley Farms.

Clive was a keen ballroom and old time sequence dancer, with the Louth dance group.

He was also a member of the Lincolnshire Retriever Club, with his German short-haired pointer, Mac.
