RUNNERS are being encouraged to enter a new multi terrain run through the Wolds this month.
The Tennyson 8 has been founded by local builder Paul Jackson and his friend Michael Dean.
The eight-mile run is due to begin in Hagworthingham on Sunday, September 25, with participants setting off and finishing at the George and Dragon pub in Main Road.
A number of different charities are set to benefit from the event.
Paul, 39, of Manor Road, Hagworthingham, said: “We are both members of Louth Running Club and have participated in a number of races around the area, but thought it would be good to set up our own race.
“We hope there will be enough interest, but we will be building it more in the future. We just wanted to get it up and running this year. Hopefully next year we can set up a website.”
The route will go from Hagworthingham to Bag Enderby, then to Somersby, Stainsby and back to Hagworthingham.
Included in the entrants is Paul’s brother Andrew Jackson, who is running in aid of the Epilepsy Society (www.justgiving.com/andrew-jackson13).
Competitors can fundraise for their own individual charities, but the registration fees will go into a pot for a mixture of causes to be decided at a later date.
The entry fee is £10 for those affiliated and £12 for non-affiliated.
For further information call Paul on 07810 408000 or Michael on 07765 928278.
There will also be a limited number of entries allowed to sign up on the actual day of the event.
