A former Caistor student is preparing to travel to China to represent the UK in the Harbin International Snow Sculpture Competition.
Daniel Hyde is now studying architectural technology at Nottingham Trent University and will travel to China as part of a team of four students.
The team will receive training at Harbin Engineering University in preparation where the temperature can drop down to as low as -30°C.
Daniel said: “The competition is a great opportunity to see other cultures, architecture and meaning of life. It is a chance to meet new people, make new friends and develop team building and design skills.”
The competition takes place 4–7 January 2012.
