Caistor’s newly launched memory cafe has been given a boost with a £500 grant from the Lincolnshire Community Chest fund.
The money will be used to purchase a Karaoke system for the Springs Church sponsored cafe, which opened in March.
“The Karaoke will be a great addition to the cafe resources, playing songs from the 1940s, 50s, 60s and even the 70s to bring back nostalgic memories for our visitors,” said Springs Pastor, Aiden Wood.
Initially the Memory Cafe aimed to run on the second Monday of each month, but from May it will open on the second and fourth Monday, from 10am to 12 noon in Caistor Town Hall.
“We welcome people who are having memory problems, those living with dementia and their carers or any elderly person feeling they could do with some company, chatting about the old days over a cup of tea and piece of cake,” added Aiden.
To find out more, Springs Church can be contacted on 07791 362654 or just go along on the day.
