A traditional ceremony will be taking place next week when the water pumps at North Kelsey and Caistor will be blessed.

Grimsby Morris will be on hand at both blessings to perform their dances.

They will also be collecting for the charity Water Aid.

The event takes place on Monday, June 6, starting at 7.45pm at the North Kelsey pump.

The blessing itself will be carried out by the Rev Geoffrey Spencer.

Festivities will then move to Caistor for approximately 8.30pm.

Here, the blessing ceremony will be performed by the Rev Canon Ian Robinson, at the pump in the Market Place, erected to mark Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897.

Events will then move down the hill to the Salutation Inn at Nettleton for around 9.15pm, where there will be some more dancing, followed by the blessing of a very different type of pump - the beer pump.
