Caistor Lions Beer Festival gets under way at 5pm this Friday (June 17) at South Street Park, with the event promising to be a great two days of fun and entertainment.
On tap will be 22 of the nation’s finest ales and the music line-up features some very talented musicians playing a variety of music throughout.
The Festival opens at 5pm on the Friday, with the first act up being Robyn at 6.30pm.
She will be followed by singer songwriter Nick Akester and then Ramble Gamble will fill the marquee with their unique sound until 10.30pm.
Saturday’s line-up kicks off with the children of Caistor Primary School, followed by Caistorways.
Up next is the young folk band Salutation and then the Kent sisters - Anna and Martha.
Out Door Cats perform their ukulele and vocal set mid-afternoon, and that is followed by Country and Western duo Two Dollar Bill.
Moon Raiders follow them and then it is the turn of duo Sunny and Boo Boo.
The Skiffs will perform into the evening to close the Festival.
On Saturday afternoon, there will extra entertainment courtesy of the Tom Woods Beers Tug of War Contest.
With cases of beer to be won, four teams have so far announced their intention to compete, but more teams will be very welcome – late entrants may register on the day.
Throughout both days, there will also be face painting and a photo booth.
Food, ice cream and soft drinks will also be available.
Entry is £3, which will include a commemorative beer glass, kindly sponsored by BSB Transport and Limagrain.
The production of glasses or wristbands obtained on Friday will secure admission on Saturday, when the festival opens at 12 noon.
Caistor and District Lions are extremely grateful to The White Hart, The Roofing Company of Swallow and Caistor Lakes Leisure Park for their generous sponsorship of the infrastructure of the Beer Festival and to the many other local businesses for their kind sponsorship of casks of beer, without which there would be no Festival.
“Caistor Lions will donate all funds raised by the Festival to local good causes and it is the help and generosity of the business community that has made all this possible,” said a Lions spokesman.
