Market Rasen mayor John Matthews has revealed some of the goodies in store at the Mayor’s Charity Event on Friday December 5.
The event in the Market Place runs from 4pm to 8pm, with the switching on of the town’s Christmas Lights at 6pm. There is no word yet as to which VIP will switch on the lights.
But there will also be Carol Singing from local primary schools, church choirs and the town band, stalls and fun and games, plus a charity cafe for refreshments and snacks.
One innovation promised will be a “new take” on the Christmas Nativity story.
Mayor Matthews says the Charity Event, in aid of the Lincolnshire Air Ambulance and the Alzheimer’s Society, promises great fun for all the family.
“I am supporting the Lincolnshire Air Ambulance, because I just feel it provides an invaluable service to our community and one that we should help to keep running, and The Alzheimer’s Society as this is a disease from which I have suffered personal bereavement and is truly horrid to the victim in their last weeks,” he said.
The next day, Saturday December 6, will also feature “wonderful Christmas shopping” at the Mr BIG Christmas Market in the Market Place from 9am to 3pm.
