Organisers of two local RAF memorial services are expecting a double delight of Lancasters to take part in the scheduled flypasts this Sunday, September 7.
At Ludford, 101sq Association will be honouring the fallen who served from the wartime airbase.
A service takes place in the church at 2pm, followed by wreath laying at the memorial in the main street.
As always, members of the village WI will be serving afternoon tea to the veterans and their families in the village hall and it is during this time the flypast is expected.
At Wickenby too, thoughts will be of those who lost their lives in World War II.
A memorial service will be held at the Icarus Memorial at the gate of Wickenby Aerodrome at 3pm and will be attended by veterans, relatives of those who served and members of the public.
And organisers have been given a time of 4.15pm for the flypast, subject to weather conditions.
