Woman dies after crash at West Barkwith

A woman from Louth has died in hospital after a collision on the A157 at West Barkwith.

Emergency services were called to the A157 at West Barkwith at 5.15pm on Monday 12 November following a collision involving a silver Kia Picanto and a silver Audi TT travelling in the opposite direction.

The woman, who is yet to be named, was driving the Picanto and had to be cut free from her vehicle and was taken to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, suffering from very serious fractures and internal injuries.

The driver of the Audi is a 31 year-old woman from Lincoln, who received treatment for minor injuries.

The road was closed until 11pm.

Lincolnshire Police are re-appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the vehicle prior to the incident and they should contact the Collision Witness Hotline on 01522 558855.
