In an update on ‘economic development matters’ at the town council’s monthly meeting, Caistor town clerk Helen Pitman said WLDC officers had written to her saying they were ‘progressing’ with the matter.

Councillors thanked the clerk for the update and have requested more detailed information about what is being done.

Back in December Caistor Town Council vowed to take action over the town’s empty buildings and agreed to compile a list of them and any others needing attention.

It was decided the council would push for WLDC to take action to encourage owners to bring back buildings into use.

Unlike the town council, the district council has details of building
ownership. One of the town’s most notable empty buildings is the Grade Two listed Westgate House in Plough Hill.

The town council’s latest meeting was held in the town hall on Thursday, May 12
