Rotarians from Market Rasen travelled to Barnsley for the annual Rotary District 1270 Disability Games, accompanying the local entrants at the games.
This year, Market Rasen’s team consisted of nine residents from Hill House Nursing Home at Osgodby, together with well-known Market Rasen resident Phil Smart of Willingham Road.
They were accompanied by Rotarians David Herring, Keith Patrick and Ian Shedden, although Hill House provided their own transport.
As always, a great day was enjoyed, even though this year the venue was a lot further away than in some recent years.
Darts, wheelchair games, snooker, swimming, athletics, boccia and weight lifting were some of the activities on offer.
All contestants received a competitor’s medal, but Claire Payne from Hill House received a runners-up award in her section of the swimming competition.
Next year the competition returns to a more local venue - Scunthorpe - and it is hoped an even larger team will be encouraged to join in the fun.
