A colleague has paid tribute to a “well respected” retired doctor who died in a crash on the A631.
Geoffrey Wood, 56, from North Kelsey, died after his motorbike was involved in a crash with two cars at Kelstern on Monday, March 10.
Dr Wood - who worked at Caistor Health Centre for more than 20 years - retired about three years ago.
Dr Kate Backhouse, who worked with Dr Wood, said: “He’s going to be hugely missed.
“He was someone all of his patients loved.
“They were still coming in until he passed away saying it was a shame he had retired.
“It’s a big loss to the community.
“He was a proper old-fashioned doctor.
“He had time to sit and talk to his patients.
“I always looked up to him.
“He was my role model.
“Since the news came out about his death we’ve had lots of patients coming in upset about it.
“He was very well respected.”
Caistor Health Centre has a collection box to raise money for LIVES in Dr Wood’s memory.
His funeral will take place at Lincoln Crematorium on Thursday, April 3 at 12.30pm.
There will be family flowers only.
Donations, in memory of Dr Wood, will be collected for LIVES.
Donations can also be sent to J Marshall Funeral Directors, 51 Queen Street, Market Rasen, LN8 3EN.
