Not satisfied with winning the prize for best cafe in the Lindsey area, Ten Acre Cafe near Market Rasen has now picked up a regional gong.

The eatery won the award for Best Cafe and Tea Room in Lindsey earlier this year and has now followed it up by taking the top honour in the same category at the regional East Midlands Food and Drink Awards.

Barbara Jessop decided to set up the cafe 20 years ago on the A1103 Top Road between Rasen and Osgodby.

She said: “Everybody at the time said I wanted my head testing but I said, wait until you see what I can make it and I worked and worked on it to get it right.

“It’s always been popular as there is very little in
the countryside in Lincolnshire.

“We do a great lunch and there is always someone to talk to and there are not many places like that left where people can get out of town for a meal.”

Ten Acres Cafe saw off stiff competition in the category from Pizzini at Bottesford, Cafe at the Samworth Centre, Melton Mowbray, and Concreation Garden Centre in Boston

Denise Page and Jenny Siman from Ten Acre Cafe are pictured picking up the awards at the East Midlands Food and Drink Awards Ceremony, which was held at Greetham Valley in Rutland recently.
