Teenage girl in hospital after serious collision near Brigg

A teenager is in hospital with serious head injuries after she was involved in a collision with a car in Scawby, near Brigg at 4.44pm yesterday, Monday May 12.

The 15-year-old girl from Scawby Brook was on West Street, not far from Scawby Primary School, when the collision occurred with a blue Vauxhall Astra car.

She suffered a serious head injury and was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary where she has been detained in Intensive Care and is said to be seriously ill.

The driver of the Astra, a 43-year-old woman from Hibaldstow, was uninjured.

The road around the collision site was closed to allow investigators to make inquiries and enable recovery of the vehicle. It re-opened at 7.15pm.
