A Faldingworth girl has been in sweet heaven after winning a national competition.
Twelve-year-old Anna Carter was named a Haribo Little Apprentice and won the chance to experience the exciting sights and smells of the famous sweet factory.
As a Haribo Little Apprentice, Anna was one of just 10 children to enter the Happy World of Haribo.
And not only did Anna work with the Haribo team, she also got to meet brand mascot Goldbear, took a tour around the factory, tasted brand new treats and came up with her own imaginative sweet suggestions, flavours and textures.
“The tour was amazing,” said Anna.
“It is the best place I have been to.
“I really liked seeing how the sweets were made and the tasting session.”
To win the prize, Anna had to say what she would do if she ran the Haribo factory for a day and what sweet treat she would invent.
And she won the judges over with her idea of hiding a rare golden Haribo in a sweet packet that would give people the chance to win a hamper of goodies if they were lucky enough to find it.
“Haribo Little Apprentice is a really popular competition so Anna should be really pleased that her treat idea secured a visit to the Haribo factory,” said the company’s marketing manager Hayley Johnson.
“We also liked the fact that Anna was really passionate about seeing how Haribo treats are made.
“Everyone who visited the factory had a fantastic time, I know they enjoyed seeing how Haribo Starmix is made and also tasting some of our top secret treats.
“It was certainly an experience which we hope they will remember forever.”
