A Market Rasen store has shown they are top of the tree when it comes to a spot of fundraising.
Tesco, in the town’s Linwood Road, is leading the table in the East Midlands superstore stakes, raising more than £10,500 in less than 12 months for the company’s National Charity Partnership with Diabetes UK.
“We’re delighted to be at the top and the money is still being counted,” said Jenny Stimson, Community Champion for Tesco Market Rasen.
“We are only at period 11 at the moment and we already have a couple of thousand to add to this total to get the year’s figures.”
The fundraising goes on until August, the first time the company has supported a charity for 18 months, instead of the usual 12 months.
And although Jenny is the fundraising face of Tesco Market Rasen, she says it has been a real team effort.
“Everyone here at the store has got behind the cause - it is a real team effort,” she said.
“We have had stalls, cake sales, sweets in jars and much more going on - it has been fantastic.
“And we would like to thank all our super customers - they have been so good to us.”
