Most of them took place overnight between May Day Bank Holiday Monday and Tuesday, with all of them arising because of unsecure doors or windows, often while householders were inside their homes.

Among them was a garage burglary outside a house in Lammas Leas Road, near Market Rasen Rail Station, where an intruder got in and carried out a search but took nothing (Incident 146 of May 3).

Meanwhile, a mobile phone and Playstation 4 games were stolen from a house in Nursery Street, near Market Rasen Methodist Church, after intruders gained entry via an unsecure door (Incident 41 of 03/05/2016).

Finally, a school bag and handbag were stolen from a house in Thirsk Close, off The Ridings, Market Rasen, where someone got in through a window that was left slightly open (Incident 41 of 03/05/2016).

However, a Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “The contents (of the bags) were emptied (out) in the (back) garden and the offender left empty-handed.”

Anyone with information about any of these burglaries should call 101, quoting the relevant incident number.
