Shirely Sanderson retires as Osgodby Parish Council Clerk after 27 years

After more than 40 years of serving the community, Shirley Sanderson put down her pen and pad and retired as Osgodby Parish Councl Clerk.

Mrs Sanderson, who lives in Gordon Fields, Market Rasen, has been the clerk at Osgodby for 27 years, but first took up the same role at Tealby Parish Council in 1970.

She has since been clerk to Walesby, Owmby by Spital and Toft Newton Parish Council’s,and Market Rasen Town Council.

She was also a West Lindsey District Councillor for the area from 1983 to 1999, Chairman of Brookenby Development Ltd, a member of Market Rasen Youth Club’s Management Committee for 15 years, nine as chairman and was a Governor of De Aston School.

Last week Osgodby Parish Council presented her with a crystal vase and flowers. Council chairman Vic Mason said she would be irreplaceable.

He added: “She will be sorely missed. Her expertise and the knowledge base she has got is irreplaceable, but hopefully we will find someone to take her role.”
