Market Rasen’s MP Sir Edward Leigh is busy fundraising for his 2015 General Election campaign.

Tealby and Walesby Conservatives recently enjoyed a cheese and wine evening at the home of Kelly and Kirsten Smith of Tealby, with Sir Edward and Lady Leigh in attendance. Also present were several dozen supporters including Gainsborough Association Chairman Stephanie Rouse and district councillors Lewis Strange, Johannah Churchill, Giles McNeill, Jessie Milne, Pat Mewis and Robert Kendrick.

“This has been a really great evening. It is always good to spend some time with the people who support me in the constituency, particularly those from Tealby and the Market Rasen area. Kirsten and Kelly have both put in a considerable effort to make the evening’s event a real success,” Sir Edward commented.

More than £200 was raised.

Now, the constituency association is preparing for its annual Constituency Dinner at Hemswell Court on Friday October 18.

Guest speaker is Eton-educated Eurosceptic North Somerset MP Jacob Ress-Mogg, noted for his upper-class accent and old-fashioned gentlemanly appearance, while being a polished parliamentary performer.

“Jacob is an amusing and intelligent speaker and I am sure we will very much enjoy his wit and wisdom. The event is open to all so I very much hope we will be welcoming some new faces,” said association secretary Giles McNeill.

Daniel Hutchinson of Unique Auctions, Lincoln, who appears on BBC2’s Antiques Road Trip, will also conduct a fundraising auction.
