Members of the Rotary Club of Market Rasen have expressed heir gratitude to the generous shoppers during the run up to the busy shopping days during the Festive season.
Teams of Rotarians spent a day each at the Co-op in Market Rasen and also in Caistor collecting for Shelter Box, which provides emergency accommodation for families made homeless after a natural or man made disaster.
Over the last year, the equivalent of 5,000 Shelter Boxes were sent to 23 different countries, giving living accommodation to some 50,000 people.
At the Club’s other collection, shoppers at Tesco in Market Rasen donated to St Andrew’s Hospice in Grimsby.
The grand total of £904.44 was collected between over the three days and this will be allocated shortly to the charities.
“We would like to the manager and staff at each of the stores for their willingness to allow us to collect - and indeed for the warm welcome we always receive,” said Rotarian David Mason.
