An on-line auction for the 2013 season helmet of motorcycle racer Guy Martin has exceeded all expectations.
The helmet was expected to make a fairly good price, but when bidding closed it had reached £4,150.
The highest bidder is currently living and working in France, but he will return in the autumn to collect the item and meet Guy at an event to be confirmed.
“Thank you so much to Paddy who is a retained fire fighter in Lincolnshire, for donating the item to our Charity, neither of us can believe the huge amount of money this raised for The Fire Fighters Charity,” said Laura Harden, Regional Fundraising Officer.
“We are so pleased, and slightly overwhelmed, with the support and kind words received whilst the auction was taking place.
“Auctioning this item alone will ensure we can support three fire fighters and their families for a week at one of our Centres.
“Anyone wanting to support our Charity can do so by either donating or taking part in one of our events: www.firefighterscharity.org.uk’.
