Police name Rasen area motorcyclist killed in A46 RTC

Lincolnshire Police have confirmed a motorcyclist who was killed in an RTC near Caistor last Sunday (August 7) was from the Market Rasen area.

He has been officially named as Phillip Smith (42). No further details have been released at this stage.

The driver of a car who was killed in the same incident has been named as Paul Boden (60), from Grimsby.

Police say they were called to the A46, Caistor Road, near the village of Swallow on Sunday afternoon after a car and a motor cycle had collided. Initial reports said two people had been seriously injured and taken to hospital.

On Monday, police said the motorcyclist and car driver had died.

It is understood a black Seat Toledo and a black Honda motor cycle were the vehicles involved.

Anyone who was in the area just before 1640 on Sunday and saw either the car or the motor cycle before the collision - or saw the collision itself - is asked to contact police on 101 or the witness hotline on 01522 558855.
