Pitch perfect progression at Brigg Recreation ground

Brigg Town Cricket Club's plans to improve the state of the Recreation Ground pitch were warmly received at the Lincolnshire Cricket League's mid-summer meeting held at Rase Park in Market Rasen.

The Brigg team currently plays in Division 4 of the Lincolnshire League, but have been forced to play their home matches at the Brocklesby Park ground in recent seasons.

However, it is planned that by the 2017 season they will be able to return to their home base in Brigg.

The development is part of a £2 million reinvestment of the Recreation Ground which is proceeding well. The facilities will see new changing rooms, a tea room and social facilities.

Four new tennis courts will be created with Brigg Tennis Club planning to move from Sir John Nelthorpe School’s facilities in Wrawby Road.

A floodlit full size artificial grass pitch will also enable Brigg Hockey Club to play Yorkshire League fixtures for both men and ladies at the site.
