Around £11,000 was raised at the Walk In The Park event in the grounds of William Farr School at Welton earlier this summer.

“It went very well despite the challenges of the weather - two major storms with thunder, lightening, serious downpours and loss of power at times,” said co-organiser Caroline Swindin.

However, the event continued with 23 teams and more than 260 participants, with some amusing dressing up themed laps, a selection of live music, stalls and activities.

There was a flypast from a Dakota and the Ambucopter landed meaning everyone was able to get close up and ask questions.

The evening ended with an fantastic fireworks display.

The money raised will be divided equally between Cancer Research UK, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance and St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice.

“We have had lots of good feedback and we are very grateful to all those who helped and supported the event in some way, especially William Farr School,” added Caroline.
