Caistor Running Club has welcomed a host of new members to its increasingly popular annual eight-week beginners course, which has been meeting on two evenings each week at the Sports and Social Club in Brigg Road.
During the course, the new starters are supported by existing members, who have all been down the same path at some point during their running career.
It is hoped some of these beginners will now aspire to run the Caistor 10k, which takes place this year on Sunday July 13 at 10am.
This will be the third ‘Sting in the Tail’ race which has gained in popularity over the years.
Last year, around 250 runners completed the race and it is hoped that this year 400 runners will be attracted to the market town.
The race is open to anyone aged 15 years or over on the day of the race.
Closing date for entries is Saturday, June 29.
For more information on joining the club, whose motto is ‘Run for Fun’, or to enter the 10k, visit the club’s website at www.caistorrunningclub.com
The club meets at 6.30pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for new starters or 7pm for club nights.
