Obey the rules of the road

A BRIGG town councillor has urged customers of a town supermarket to obey road traffic signs when leaving the store’s car park.

Coun Ann Eardley told fellow councillors at their monthly meeting that far too many drivers turned right when leaving Tesco onto the busy Barnard Avenue instead of turning left, going to the Atherton Way roundabout and doubling back.

“This is getting ridiculous,” said Coun Eardley.

Councillors were unanimous in their support for her comments and Town Mayor Carl Sherwood urged people who witness offenders to report their car registration number to the police – using the 101 phone number.

The issue is also to be raised with North Lincolnshire Highways.

Coun Nigel Sherwood, who holds the highways portfolio, was also
at the meeting and the issue will
be raised at the forthcoming
Neighbourhood Action Team meeting.
