Fundraising for Brigg River Trust at the Saturday market in Brigg were members of Glanford Canoe Club, who set up the Ergo Challenge in Wrawby Street.
The club, which has a new clubhouse on the river bank, is part of the trust’s plans to develop the Ancholme waterside between the Ancholme Leisure Centre and the Oil Mill Bridge.
Club member Peter Keal said: “This is the first stage of a £150,000 development to regenerate aspects of this part of the riverside.
“It is a significant project for us to be a part of.”
The developments are to include new canoe facilities including a slalom course, fishing pegs with provision for the disabled.
“We want to attract more users to the facilities the river can provide,” said Coun Rob Waltham, who is leading the River Trust project on the Ancholme. “It is good that the club are in doing some fund raising for the River Trust.”
