Brigg Methodist Church Minister the Rev Enid Knowles is to take a more part-time role from the end of August and will take up responsibility for two churches at the Barton end of the circuit.

The Rev Knowles oversaw the 50th Anniversary celebrations at the Barnard Avenue Church in 2013 and, after playing a lead role in the circuit during her five-year stay in the town, will be less of a senior figure from the autumn.

The Rev Knowles will be moving to live in Barnetby, though her responsibility will be for churches in Ulceby and Goxhill.

The new Brigg and Barton Methodist Circuit Minister will be the Rev Ian Wales, who will operate in the Brigg area part of the circuit.

His responsibility will be over churches in Brigg, Barnetby, Hibaldstow, Kirton, Waddingham and Wrawby.

The Rev Wales will live in the Brigg Manse in St James Road and a service to mark his arrival will be held at 3pm on Saturday August 30 at Brigg Methodist Church, led by the Chairman of the Lincoln District, the Rev Bruce Thompson.

Also leaving the circuit is Deacon Carys Woodley, who has played a key role in the Brigg Wednesday Cafe Church.

She is moving to Kent and a farewell get-together will be held at Brigg on Friday July 25 at 7pm.
