Market Rasen’s railway station building is in new hands after being sold at auction last Wednesday, April 9.
The former station building and ticket office was bought for the guide price of £50,000 by Lindum Construction Ltd.
The company already owns premises within the town - 20 King Street, the former Lincolnshire County Council offices, and 27 Market Place, the former Halifax building.
The sale will not be completed until 28 days time and the company is unable to say at this stage what the future will hold for the Grade II listed building.
The property currently has building consent for office accommodation.
The former gents toilets, upon which the information board is attached and which is used by the Station Adoption Group, was not included in the sale.
“This has been retained by our company and will remain available for use by the adoption group,” said Carl Tyler, Group Director of Terrafirma Estates.
The buildings ceased to be used around 40 years ago and in the 1980s were under threat of demolition.
Terrafirma Estates bought the buildings in 2000.
The recent auction was held by Countrywide Property Auctioneers in Sheffield.
