Murrey, 7, gives homeless a Christmas to remember

While most children were busy dreaming up their wish list for Santa, one Market Rasen boy was thinking of others.

Seven-year-old Murrey Chapman had seen homeless people when he visited London in the summer and decided this Christmas he wanted to do something to those without homes more locally.

So, with the help of his mum Natalie, Murrey asked people he knew to make up a shoe box with suitable items to be given out to the homeless on Christmas Day.

His collection was very successful and just before Christmas, Murrey visited The Nomad Trust in Lincoln to hand over the 30 boxes to deputy manager Brenda Wilson.

“We receive generous donations from all sorts of people and organisations, but these beautifully decorated boxes were a particularly special
donation, which I know the recipients were very grateful to receive” said Brenda.

The boxes were given out to the Nomad Trust’s service users on Christmas morning.

In the boxes were socks, toiletries, sweets, books and many other things to make life just a little more comfortable.

And Murrey and Natalie
also took along with them some sleeping bags, which will be given out by the Trust to rough sleepers.

The Nomad Trust is an emergency access night shelter for the homeless.
