Abandoned and unwanted dogs are getting a helping paw from a Brigg business.
Brigg Office Supplies, run by animal lovers Mireille West and Jenny Ellis, has adopted Jerry Green Dog Rescue as its Charity of the Year.
The company will be supporting the local charity throughout 2013.
The shop, in the town’s old library, now has in-store collection boxes and Jerry Green Dog Rescue merchandise on sale and is using its open days as an opportunity to fundraise for the charity.
Mireille and Jenny are also selling recyclable charity bags and collected a mountain of toys and treats for the dogs as part of Jerry Green’s Love Us, Love Our Dogs Valentine’s Day campaign.
“Jenny and I are real animal lovers and have several pets of our own that we love dearly,” said Mireille.
“Having visited the centre several times we know how hard the staff and volunteers work to help find suitable and loving homes for the dogs.
“We’re very lucky to have generous and kind customers and friends who are helping us to raise funds and raise awareness.”
Catherine Foster, head of fundraising for Jerry Green’s, added: “We’re truly grateful to Mireille and Jenny for their unbelievable offer of support. We rely entirely on donations and bequests, so really appreciate every generous offer we receive. We’re looking forward to working with Brigg Office Supplies throughout the year and we’re confident that their help and support will make a big difference to our work.”
