Home is where the heart is!

Saturday 9am WHEN Maxine French got engaged to John Babington at the Four Seasons Hotel in Dunholme on Valentine's Day 22 years ago, little did they know they would one day buy a new home at the site.

Playing host to the likes of Les Dawson, Little and Large, Frankie Howerd, The Krankies, Jimmy Cricket, Joe Longthorne, Des O'Connor, Freddie and the Dreamers, Bobby Davro and many more, the hotel became a regular haunt for celebrities taking a break from playing to packed audiences at Skegness theatres during the 1970s and 1980s.

But when the hotel was demolished in 1990, after remaining derelict for a number of years, Miller Homes built a development of 26 homes on the site.

Following a visit to the Falcon Heath development, Maxine (47) and John (45), who werer living at Welton, decided the fond memories they had of the area made it the perfect location for their dream home.

"We went to the old Four Seasons Hotel on Valentines night in 1978 and it was a real night to remember," said Maxine.

"Not only did John ask me to marry him but the cabaret singer sang 'Moon River' to me, which at the time was my favourite song.

"One Saturday towards the end of last year we decided to call in at Falcon Heath and that was when we found our ideal home.

"The development is in a rural location and it also boasts a close knit community. We were so taken with the house, we visited the development every single weekend until we finally moved in."
