Having won the Caistor in Bloom Spring Garden title, Peter and Gwen Thompson were doubly delighted to win the Best Edible category with their Horsemarket garden too.

“Many tomatoes and cucumbers were on show as well as cabbages, artichokes and runner beans with peas and carrots contributing to a really good show,” said In Bloom chairman Deborah Barker. “At a time that was slightly after harvesting due to the very good weather, the quality of crops were commendable in all gardens judged.”

Second place in the competition, sponsored by Lincolnshire Co-op, went to David and Catherine Marris, with Louis and Robina King taking third place.
